Yes, talks are in the process of bringing the famous video game’s movie format to the silver screens under 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment. The Tracking Board reported that 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment have started development. It was said that “Oblivion” and “Spy” producer Peter Chernin is going to produce this movie. It was also revealed that David Ready and Michael Finfer will handle this adaptation for Chernin and Mike Ireland and Ryan Horrigan for 20th Century Fox.
The classic Capcom game is also known as Rockman in Japan and has its comics, manga (Japan), and anime adaptations too. As far as the characters in the game are concerned, the game’s hero called Rock is Dr. Light’s lab assistant who turned into a robot to battle evil forces. The main villain is called Dr. Wily who is a mastermind behind many devastating Robot Masters and robotic creations. So, by destroying such evil forces our Mega Man or Rockman saves the world.
20th Century Fox has names like “Avatar,” “Titanic,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” “Ice Age,” “The Maze Runner,” “Die Hard,” “X-Men,” “Planet of the Apes,” “Home Alone,” “Night at the Museum,” “Independence Day,” “Taken,” “The Omen,” “Fantastic Four,” “Rio,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and many more to its credit. Currently, Chernin is busy in his upcoming projects namely, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” (2016), “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” (2016), and “War of the Planet of the Apes” (2017).
It will be a great fun to watch “Mega Man” on big screen but other details related to its starting and cast are not yet clear. So, we have to wait for an official confirmation from the producer and of course the distributing studios.
