Every film and television series has a production schedule that is adhered to, as filming, expected release dates, marketing schedules, and of course, the schedule of the cast and creative team involved will be affected. This is also true for anything else that involves a cast and crew, such as concerts and music videos, as one little misstep or error, can set back many things, as the popular Korean boy band, 2PM, learned last May when the director of their music video for their album “No. 5” suddenly bailed on them. However, since then, the band’s representatives have taken action. Read on to learn more about this story.
According to Soompi, JYP Entertainment, as part of the ongoing legal action being taken against music video director Han Sa Min, has filed a $42,000 lawsuit, which translates to around fifty million won, against him.
This lawsuit is in response to Han Sa Min’s sudden departure from directing a music video which had been planned to be included in 2PM’s album, “No. 5,” which had been slated for release on June 1, 2015. As he had left four days before the scheduled shoot, everything, from marketing schedules, to the schedules of 2PM’s members, were affected. According to another article on Soompi, according to JYP Entertainment’s press release, the only reason that they had been given by DEXTERLAB, Han Sa Min’s company for them leaving the project was due to conflicting schedules from his commitments to another artist.
According to JYP Entertainment’s official press release, they had decided to take legal action against Han Sa Min as he has not yet taken responsibility for what had happened.
According to AllKPop, it has been speculated that the artist whom Han Sa Min was prioritizing over 2PM might be YG Entertainment’s Big Bang, but according to the company, despite the fact that Big Bang’s music video “Loser” is in his online portfolio, Big Bang’s music videos weren’t directed by Han Sa Min, but by Sung Won Mo and Park Sang Woo of Digipedi.
