5 Best Troy and Gabriella Moments in ‘High School Musical’
Let’s admit it, Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez are one of the sweetest on-screen couples to ever come alive on television. The chemistry grew much more when fans learned that its stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens became real-life couples.
Let’s take a look back at five of the best Gabriella and Troy moments in “High School Musical.”
1. “The Start Of Something New”
In “High School Musical,” Troy and Gabriella first met at the ski lodge karaoke party. The two sang and welcomed the New Year together. Of course, the duet had an impact on both sides, but sadly, they weren’t able to get hold of each other’s numbers.
2. “Breaking Free”
Eventually, Troy finds out that Gabriella was the new student at their school, East High. She convinces him to join the musical. Troy worries about what his friends and father would think if they find out about him singing. The two would secretly meet up with practice, but the secret eventually gets out when everyone sees Gabriella and Troy audition for the winter musical.
Here, Gabriella continued with her competition while Troy went on to his basketball game. The two, even though they were late, were still able to audition for the musical and landed the major roles.
3. “You Are The Music In Me”
This is the moment when Gabriella and their friends notice that Troy has changed in “High School Musical 2.”
Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) hired Troy and the rest of the basketball team at her family’s country club, Lava Springs. She pulls the strings and tempts Troy to sing with her at their club’s annual Midsummer Night Talent Show in exchange for a college opportunity. Troy suddenly begins to change when Sharpay lavishes him with the finest of things.
4. “I Gotta Go My Own Way”
Of course, the inevitable break up happened when Gabriella noticed that she and Troy are beginning to grow apart.
Gabriella confronts Sharpay for leaving Ryan in order to win at the Midsummer Night Talent Show. Troy overhears them. She tells him that he should go and wear his new Italian shoes. Troy insists that he hasn’t changed, but Gabriella tells him they need to go their separate ways in HSM 2.
5. “Can I Have This Dance”
Gabriella, Troy, and the rest of the cast are in their senior year in High School. In HSM 3, the seniors begin preparing for their future in college and the most-awaited prom night.
Gabriella teaches Troy how to dance the Waltz while singing. While Gabriella found the perfect school and course for her, Troy is finding a hard time confessing to his father that he doesn’t want to attend the University of Albuquerque.
Troyella repeat singing the song when Troy visited Gabriella at Stanford University and end up kissing each other.
