5 Seconds Of Summer Opens Up About Haters From One Direction Supporters; ‘Fans Feel Like They Know Us’- 5SOS
5 Seconds of Summer band is indeed one of the most in-demand group this year aside from One Direction, but it seems like not everyone is happy with their achievements. Read On!
5 Seconds of Summer band members Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood may have received a lot of love from their fans, but this doesn’t mean that they are totally numb from all the hates they get from One Direction fans.
In their Billboard Magazine interview, Clifford, 19, recalled that “there were shitloads” of fans being like “F*ck this band, these guys are all sh*t-ugly dipsh*ts. What are they doing on tour with One Direction, my perfect babies?”
It was not the first time we heard 5SOS band opened up about their haters. On their Capitol Radio (via V Music) appearance before, Irwin, Hood, Clifford and Hemmings even responded to #haters on Twitter and mind you, it’s totally hilarious.
Irwin responded to a tweet from one of the bashers who said he looks like an a**hole by simply saying, “Well fine sire. Guns at dawn! I dunno mate…I was just born this way.”
Meanwhile, Hood answered a dude who complained about his girlfriend “pining” over their band and saying that “I’ve got pants older than them.” Hood in return, calmly said, “This is our rebuttal: you should not use the word pining.”
Adding on, Clifford responded to a fan who pointed out that his hair color makes him look like an avocado with a hashtag #Waitrose by saying “What does hashtag Waitrose even mean? I mean everyone likes avocadoes.”
Hemmings then again, gave a simple and meaningful message to all their band’s haters by insisting that people should think before they head out and shout their thoughts on their social media accounts.
“I don’t care when people don’t like our band, but I don’t like when they dislike us for reasons that aren’t right…..There’s definitely a lot of negative stuff out there on the internet that I’ve seen….I feel like everyone on the internet’s either really for us or really against us.” –Alternative Press Magazine
Moving on, back to their Billboard interview, Irwin belives that they have more fans than haters because “people find them relatable.”
“The fans feel like they know us because they do. We’re here together in 2015, and we’re experiencing the same issues.”
On the other hand, Good Charlotte Joel Madden, who recently collaborated with 5 Seconds of Summer, praised the band’s work ethics as he compared it to other bands by saying, “Most bands want to smoke weed and play video games, and they don’t.”
