Ever since it is announced that “A Series of Unfortunate Events” would soon be converted into a Netflix television series, different speculations have been surfacing online. The movie adaptation of Daniel Handler’s “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” was released in 2004 and the world remembered how Jim Carrey played the role of wicked uncle along with other different spooky, bizarre characters. It was almost a decade ago when “A Series of Unfortunate Events” was released. This made the fans of the movie thinking that the similar cast will not be included in the upcoming series. However, there are chances that Carrey is still in consideration to reprise one of his most promising role of the cruel uncle.
In “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” Carrey played the role of Count Olaf whose role was to rip the Baudelaire siblings from their wealth. They were about to inherit it after their real parents left them. The Baudelaire siblings were left alone in the custody of their uncle Count Olaf and after that they both had to save themselves from the cruelty of their uncle and to find the truth about the disappearances of their parents.
There is no official statement from the Netflix to state the director’s position. However, fans are speculating that it would be Zack Snyder or Tim Burton who will direct the upcoming series.
