‘Revenge’ Spin-off Series: Will Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe Reprise Their Roles?
The well-known psychological thriller “Revenge,” which started in 2012 with a bang and came to its end with season 4’s last episode titled “Two Graves,” will possibly get a spin-off. Will Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe reprise their roles in the ABC “Revenge” spin-off series?
ABC President Paul Lee at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Tuesday, Aug.4, remarked that there is still hope for something tied to the show “Revenge” to come on the air eventually.
“We didn’t land that pilot but … it’s a wonderful brand; it’s known around the world. That doesn’t preclude us from doing it again,” he said.
The ABC drama has garnered many fans but failed to sustain the TRP till the end. But it was believed by its viewers that the mystery will live on through some other way, especially when “Kingmakers” by Sallie Patrick, one of the producers of “Revenge,” came into picture.
“Revenge’s” followers were so much in love with the character of Nolan that they were even expecting a spinoff based on Nolan’s character and Emily as a recurring character. No doubt, fans have said goodbye to the show as they have suspected it for quite some time but since it is a mystery series, they understand that anything can happen.
Even Executive producer Sunil Nayar made a statement during the announcement of the show’s finale, where he talked about the possibility for the show’s fifth season.
“The idea had been floated that a character or two from ‘Revenge’ could show up on her show,” showrunner Sunil Nayar told TVLine in May. “The idea was to build [the two shows] in the same universe.”
Since its starting, the TV show has been nominated and received many awards like TV.com Awards for Favorite Guilty Pleasure category, Allen Awards for Outstanding Drama, NewNowNext Awards for Best New Indulgence etc. This year, it was nominated for Favorite Network TV Drama at the 41st People’s Choice Awards 2015. Its main character, Madeleine Stowe was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV drama.
So, “Revenge” fans, keep your fingers crossed and wait for the big surprise.
