“The Purge 3” is now finalizing the casts of the new installment and actor Frank Grillo is a part of it, reprising his role as Leo Barnes.

According to The Christian Post, the update about the new cast of the movie installment of Universal, Blumhouse, and Platinum Dunes action horror film indicates that the lead actor from the second movie “The Purge: Anarchy,” Grillo will have a comeback.

It is said that Grillo is now in final stage of negotiations for the reprisal of his role in the upcoming “The Purge 3.”

News from different entertainment and movie sites reported that James DeMonaco, the franchise creator and director, has been roped in to write and form the latest sequel while Jason Blum, the Blumhouse boss, will be producing the film along with Sebatian Lemercier and Michael Bay, under their Platinum Dunes banner.

Rumors about “The Purge 3” started almost a year ago when DeMonaco talk about the two previous film sequel, but it was contradicted before by the franchise producer Brad Fuller by saying that he did not know anything about it.

But now, it is already confirmed that in 2016, we will be having once again a frightful night of killing.

However, when it comes to the lead actor Grillo, Variety reported that the “Captain America: Winter Soldier” star is having some scheduling problems with his DirectTV series “Kingdom” that is creating difficulty for him to reprise his role as Barnes. But, a source contradicted this news by saying that all issues have been fixed, means, the 50-year-old actor has now more time to film his role in “The Purge 3.”

Meanwhile, it has also been reported recently that Grillo has finished filming for his other movie, Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” where he played the role Crossbones. He acts alongside with Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans.

On the other hand, we all know that the 2014 “The Purge: Anarchy” film follows the life story of Grillo’s character, Barnes. His character used the “Purge” night to seek revenge on the person who’s behind his son’s death.

Now, if he will be reprising his role…the question is, what kind of plot will make his character worth watching again?

“The Purge 3” is prepping up to hit the theaters on July 1, 2016.
