According to TMZ, the 43-year-old actress Amanda Peterson was found dead in her home in Greeley, Colorado, on Sunday, July 5. Greeley police said that there were no signs of foul play, and they are waiting for the toxicology report from the medical examiner to release the cause of her death officially.
Amanda’s father told that the family had not heard from his daughter since Friday, July 3, reported the source. He also added that the actress had some medial issues, which might have caused her death.
Peterson suffered from several health issues such as pneumonia, sinusitis and sleep apnea for the past two years, said her father. She has been living in a home with mold issues, and had shifted to her present home in Greeley only about a year ago.
According to Amanda Peterson’s Wikipedia entry, the Greeley native started her acting career in 1985 in the feature film “Explorers.” She is famous for her role as Cindy Mancini in the 1987 teen comedy movie “Can’t Buy Me Love.” She starred in the Emmy Award-winning “A Year in the Life,” the US television season miniseries that aired from 1987 to 1988 on NBC. She appeared on covers of teen magazines like Teen Beat and Tiger Beat. The American actress left the film industry in 1994 after her last film “WindRunner.” She then modeled for a Colorado photographer in 2012.
Regarding her personal life, Amanda was first married to Joseph Robert Skutvik, and then to David Hartley after divorcing Joseph. She had two children with David.
