Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine will be performing “Lost Stars” from the “Begin Again” movie soundtrack at the Oscars. Read on for more details.

According to Mashable, “Lost Stars” is nominated for the Best Original Song category. The three-time Grammy winner will be competing with John Legend’s “Glory” (“Selma“), Rita Ora’s version of Diane Warren’s “Grateful” (“Beyond the Lights”), Glen Campbell and Julian Raymond’s “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” (“Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me”) and “Everything Is Awesome” from “The Lego Movie” written by Shawn Patterson and performed by Tegan and Sara featuring The Lonely Island.

“Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We’re thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year,” Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a joint statement, via UPI.

Levine made his feature film debut in “Begin Again,” opposite Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.

In previous interviews, Levine was vocal in saying that he hasn’t envisioned himself as anything but a member of Maroon 5. Now the singer is a coach on NBC’s “The Voice” and has since transitioned to acting.

“I think every person in the world, no matter who they are, kind of secretly wants to be a movie star. I’d never trained to do it. It’s the coolest thing,” he said in an interview with USA Today.

Behati Prinsloo’s husband says he doesn’t consider himself an actor but a “singer in a bad who got a call and decided to give it a shot.” We just might be seeing more of Levine on the big screen as he says he’s definitely open to trying out new things. He looks up to the likes of James Dean and Tom Hanks, who made an “indelible impression on the culture.”

The Oscars 2015 will air on Feb. 22, 2015 on ABC at 7:00 p.m. ET.
