‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Adds Luke Mitchell and Blair Underwood

In less than three weeks, MARVEL’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will be returning to grace the small screen. Aside from familiar faces, the second half of the second season will be introducing new characters as well. According to MARVEL’s official page, Luke Mitchell and Blair Underwood are joining the cast. Read on for further details.

In the winter finale, Agent Skye (Chloe Bennet) discovered that she was an Inhuman and underwent a process known as terragenesis. In the second half of the season, Skye will be learning more about her newfound identity and what better way is there for her to learn more about it than from a fellow Inhuman named Lincoln, who will be portrayed by “The Tomorrow People’s” Luke Mitchell. Lincoln will a big role in Skye’s life, as he will help her understand more about herself and the transformation that she will undergo. This is also in line with the projected long-term MARVEL Cinematic Universe, which will also be featuring the Inhumans in their very own movie.

Aside from Luke Mitchell, Blair Underwood will also be joining the cast of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” as Agent Melinda May’s (Ming Na-Wen) ex-husband, Doctor Andrew Garner, who is just as amazing as May, as he is a neurologist and forensic psychologist who has worked with several people with superpowers, especially those who were on the Index. He is described as someone who is very stoic, which compliments May’s personality.

Underwood has been in several other television shows before, such as “L.A. Law,” “Sex in the City,” “City of Angels,” “The Event,” “In Treatment” and the short-lived television show “Ironside.”
