Allied Film Partnership with Chinese Investor; Another Mr. and Mrs. Smith?
Allied reportedly gains new investor from China. Plus, here is everything fans need to know from the controversial movie starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard.
Paramount’s newest upcoming film Allied reportedly gained an exclusive investor. Huahua Media, previously partnered with Paramount for Transformers: Age Of Extinction, announced investing in the movie.
Screen Daily published: “Allied is one of the year’s most anticipated films and we are very pleased to continue our very successful partnership with Huahua, who will help to bring this fantastic movie to audiences throughout China,” Paramount’s president of worldwide distribution and marketing Megan Colligan explained.
The investor also recently invested in other Paramount’s films including Star Trek Beyond and Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. The partnership with the Chinese investor is expected to increase Allied sales in China. The partnership with Transformers gained the movie 300 million ticket sales in China alone.
The investors expressed positivity for the new partnership with Paramount for Pitt-Cotillard film. “We are looking forward to yet another partnership with Paramount Pictures for Allied. Our sole investment marks Huahua Media’s third worldwide investment, following our co-investments in Star Trek Beyond and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back. Based on the success of our past releases, we anticipate a positive response from moviegoers in China,” Huahua Ceo Kefei Wang stated.
Meanwhile, the film is still surrounded by controversy as the rumored on-screen partnership of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard led to Brangelina split. The two A-listers play spies set in World War 2.
The two spies, namely, Max Vatan and Marianne Beausejour, should act as lovers to finish a mission. However, things get an unexpected twist when they fall in love with each other for real.
It may sound familiar as the same premise occurred in Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie’s movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
Many observed how the studio took advantage of Brangelina split and released the trailer amid the controversy.
Allied is set to premiere in Nov. 23, 2016.
