Allison Williams as Peter Pan on Peter Pan Live!
There have been a lot of talks about who is going to play the titular role on NBC’s “Peter Pan Live!” The network has finally revealed who. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
Allison Williams has just been cast as Peter Pan. Yes, the girl who plays Marnie Michaels on “Girls” and who has also sang the “Mad Men” theme song, which was such a huge hit that it went viral, is cast to play the titular role of the boy who would not grow up. In fact, the NBC is so happy to have Williams on board, and she is really pleased too. According to her, one of her dreams has come true.
“I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true. Its such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?” said Williams in a statement published on CNN.
NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt described on how fitting Williams is for the titular role in the upcoming musical. “She’s a lovely rising star on the award-winning show ‘Girls’ where she occasionally shows off her incredible vocal talent – and we think she will bring the perfect blend of boyish vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walker’s powerful Captain Hook,” said Greenblatt in a statement posted on Today.
Craig Zadas and Neil Meron of “Smash” and “The Sound of Music Live!” are behind “Peter Pan Live!” With them working on it, we know that it is going to be another hit.
