Amanda Seyfried: ‘Red Riding Hood’ isn’t ‘Twilight’
Amanda Seyfried wants to set the record straight. Red Riding Hood is nothing like Twilight and just because it features a werewolf and teen angst/love, does not make it a Stephanie Meyer story.
“It’s a bummer that that’s what’s happening,” says Seyfried to MTV News. “Yeah, I mean Red Riding Hood does surround a girl coming of age in a love triangle [like Twilight], but that’s a lot of movies.”
Thinking of not seeing Red Riding Hood because it looks like your typical teen werewolf love story? Don’t do it because, according to the 25-year-old, there is a lot “going on.”
“The truth is, it’s an entirely different story,” says the Mamma Mia! star. “I think audiences are going to be really surprised when they end up seeing this movie because… there’s so many elements and there’s so much going on.”
Red Riding Hood also stars Gary Oldman and Billy Burke. The film opened with $14.1 million domestically.
Seyfried’s next project is the sci-fi thriller Now. The Andrew Niccol (Gattaca) film co-stars Olivia Wilde and Justin Timberlake. It hits theaters in October of 2011.
The Jennifer’s Body star is also rumored to play Cinderella in Disney’s upcoming live-action redo.
