American Horror Story: Hotel Checked-In Lot Of Viewers, Lady Gaga A Factor For High Ratings?
FX, the home channel for American Horror Story has recently announced that the debut of the horror anthology’s latest installment managed to pull 12.17 million viewers on both linear and non-linear platforms.
In a report from Variety, the premiere broadcast of the episode entitled “Checking In” last October 7 at 10 PM generated 5.81 million viewers with a viewing demographic between the 18-49 age group on Live+3.
Last year, American Horror Story: Freak Show grabbed 6.13 million viewers in its opening. However, the Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy created television series has their fifth installment trailing behind AMC’s “The Walking Dead” which went on air Sunday and Fox’s “Empire” last month.
Controversial musician Lady Gaga’s arrival to the “American Horror Story” franchise may have reeled in viewership as she plays a century-old countess . The “Cheek to Cheek” singer lately discussed her realistic yet shocking tv portrayal in News AU.
“I have been in the business since I was 15, and although I have been famous for only seven years and lived 29, I feel like I have lived 100 years,” the “Do What U Want” singer revealed as she made an association with her tenure in the music business and her “Hotel” character portrayal.
Lady Gaga admits that she tries to put herself into character each day even when the camera is not rolling.
“I become The Countess in the car on my way to work. I put fishnet on my face and red lipstick on and I read my lines. I am always prepared before I come to the trailer,” the Grammy award winner disclosed.
The 29-year-old singer’s fervor though as she jested in the interview is closely related to “method acting”. This is an acting technique in which the actor uses her own personal memories and experiences to understand the portrayal of his character.
American Horror Story: Hotel will air its second episode called “Mommy” this October 21 still on FX.
