American Odyssey Spoilers: A Sneak Peek into the Journey

In less than a month, the new political conspiracy thriller show entitled “American Odyssey” starring Anna Friel will begin on NBC. In anticipation of the highly awaited midseason series, Spoiler TV and NBC have released several promotional videos and have released the official synopsis of the show. Also, Spoiler TV has released an exclusive sneak peek of the first episode, Season 1 Episode 1 “Gone Elvis.” It will air on Sunday, Apr. 5, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. on NBC. WARNING: This article may contain spoilers on “American Odyssey” Season 1 Episode 1 “Gone Elvis.” Read only to learn more about the show and the upcoming episode.

According to the official synopsis posted on NBC’s official website, the series will focus on three strangers-  an attorney, a wealthy political activist, and a female sergeant in the United States military. Their lives become intertwined due to a massive geo-political conspiracy.

Sergeant Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel) is a highly decorated soldier returning home from a mission in North Africa against several jihadists. She becomes the sole survivor after her unit is attacked by the United States Special Forces. It was after she discovers that a big American corporation is actually funding the jihadists that they were ordered to take down. As she makes her way home, corporate lawyer Peter Decker (Peter Facinelli) suddenly finds himself embroiled in the conspiracy, and starts to investigate it, after his firm merges with the very company that funds the jihadists.

Meanwhile, trust fund baby and political activist Harrison Walters (Jake Robinson) starts to advocate for justice and truth for Odelle. He did it after hacker Bob Offer (Nate Mooney) stumbles across the evidence that Odelle had managed to email.

Later, they realize that the only way to battle this corruption and to expose the truth is to work with each other.

The promotional videos released on Spoiler TV showed the viewers a glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming series.

In one promotional video, it showed Odelle stumbling upon the file. It says that a major American company had transferred a large amount of money to the jihadists. She then managed to save it on a flash drive. She did not surrender to the Special Forces who came to take away all of the computers in their headquarters. Later, during the night, her unit was suddenly attacked, leaving no survivors except for her.

Back in America, it was shown that her husband and daughter believed that she was dead. Thanks to Aslam, a young boy who rescued her from captivity and who decided to help, everyone knew that she was alive. He had taken her picture, and sent it to his local news station, which soon became viral all over the globe.

Meanwhile, it was shown that hacker Bob Offer found Odelle’s email which had evidence of the conspiracy. He sent it to Harrison, who began to lead people in support of the truth and of Odelle.

In New York, as Odelle made her way back home, bits and pieces of Peter were shown. It was also shown that under orders of their superior officers, the United States Military spared no expense in trying to hunt down Odelle to silence her and the truth.

Another video showed that Aslam, instead of killing her, took the picture that became viral, and helped her dress up like him and the others so that she could begin her journey home in disguise.

In the sneak peek on Spoiler TV of the first episode, it was shown that they had been attacked by the United States military while her superior officer was reporting that she had the evidence of the conspiracy on her flash drive, which she promised to give to Colonel Glenn as soon as they got back home.

And that was all for the updates and sneak peek of “American Odyssey” and it’s first episode, Season 1 Episode 1 “Gone Elvis”. For more news, updates, sneak peeks, spoilers and recaps on “American Odyssey” and other television shows, keep on following Movie News Guide (MNG).
