Ariana Grande Apologizes for Comment – ‘I Hate America’
After the TMZ exclusively published the donut shop surveillance camera footage of Ariana Grande making the offensive comment “I hate Americans. I hate America,” that went viral on the internet, the 22 years old singer released an apology – “I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my county.”
The footage also caught Ariana Grande and her new man Ricky Alvarez, “licking and spitting” on donuts before putting them back on the counter and buying a bunch for themselves. Joe Marin, owner of Wolfee Donuts told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY – “Yes, I’m upset. We sold those by accident to other people and didn’t catch it until hours later.”
In the long apology statement that Ariana Grande released she explained how her words were “taken out of context”. Grande cite her advocacy for eating healthy and how America’s child obesity rate frustrates her.
She also called upon the public to “demand more from our food industry.”
Demi Lovato replaced Grande on Wednesday, at Saturday’s MLB All-Star Concert in Cincinnati. She also clarified the replace in her statement saying that because of an emergency oral surgery and due to recovery she cannot attend the show, but she assures to make it up to the fans soon.
