Ariana Grande Slammed For Headlining NYC Pride’s Dance On The Pier Instead Of Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga fans were disappointed when they found out that Ariana Grande will be headlining New York’s LGBT Pride Week. Many pointed out that the “Break Free” singer had not showed her support for the community in any way.

When it was announced that Ariana Grande will headline the Dance on the Pier, as the finale of New York’s LGBT Pride Week, several took to Twitter to express their disappointment about the news. As reported by Inquistr, members of the LGBT community were not at all happy that Ariana was chosen instead of Lady Gaga to perform in the momentous occasion.

A netizen even called Ariana a “no-talent” human being who just wanted to jump on the bandwagon. He pointed out that unlike Cyndi Lauper and Madonna, Ariana did not even risk her career in support of gay rights.

Several others called for the LGBT Pride organizers to find a more suitable performer, one who actually cares about the community and was not in it for the money.

The website, however, pointed out that some of the past performers have not been totally vocal about their support for the LGBT community, such as Jennifer Lopez and Whitney Houston. The latter, was even adamant in slamming rumors that she was a lesbian or at least bisexual.

Ariana has recently showed support for the LGBT community when she defended her gay brother after an Internet bully left a homophobic comment on the Frankie’s Instagram page, calling him a homo.

“That “homo” is the fiercest, most incredible, funniest, most intelligent, kind hearted and most LOVED person on the face of the planet!” she wrote.
