Armie Hammer Joins Julia Roberts in Untitled ‘Snow White’ Project

Armie Hammer (The Social Network) will join the growing cast of Snow White in a role perfect for the actor. Hammer, 24, will play Prince Andrew Alcott in the film.

Armie Hammer casted in Snow White PicHammer played dual roles in David Fincher’s The Social Network as the Winklevoss twins. He’s also playing opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar Hoover bio-pic, J. Edgar.

The Snow White project is still untitled with Tarsem Singh (The Fall, The Cell) directing. The production turned the attention of movie fans everywhere when it was announced that Julia Roberts will play the evil queen in the film. The production is expected to closely follow the original Brothers Grimm story, and not a family-centric version. (Though, looking back at Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the film is hardly the kind of sugar-coated over-protective projects we see today.)

The film still does not have a Snow White and according to The Wrap, Revetivity Media “isn’t close” to finding one. Production begins on June 29, 2012.

Confused over this Snow White pic and one with Kristen Stewart? We don’t blame you. Universal is busy on their Snow White film, Snow White and the Huntsman, with Twilight’s Stewart as Snow White. Charlize Theron plays the evil queen.

Fans will be busy venturing guesses on which actress will play the better nemesis; Roberts or Theron.

Lord of the Rings star Viggo Mortensen was set to play The Huntsman in the film, but was passed over by Universal. Production was scheduled to begin on Dec. 21, 2012. No word on if the date will change given the missing Huntsman.
