Arrow” Season 3 Episode 3 “Corto Maltese” aired on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. on The CW. We found out what happened to Thea, while Laurel got beaten up trying to serve justice on her own. Read on to learn more about this episode.

Previously on “Arrow” (“Corto Maltese”), in a flashback scene, we saw Thea (Willa Holland) leaving with Malcolm (John Barrowman). He gave Thea the liberty to choose where to go. Thea said that she wants to stop feeling anymore pain and asked Malcolm to train her.

Malcolm started Thea’s training by having her drink some tea for the mind. Then he taught her about pain and suffering. “Pain is inevitable and suffering is optional,” said Malcolm.

Oliver (Stephen Amell) another possible suspect to Sara’s (Caity Lotz) death. However, it was on a dead end again. At Verdant, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) informed Oliver that Thea was in Corto Maltese. Oliver decided to go there with Roy (Colton Haynes). Meanwhile, Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) asked Diggle (David Ramsey) to join Roy and Oliver because an A.R.G.U.S. field operative, Mark Shaw (David Cubitt), has gone dark.

Laurel (Katie Cassidy) went to a boxing gym to ask Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez) about one of his students who was involved in a break in.  Ted lied to Laurel and instead told her to enroll and learn how to fight.

Oliver arrived at Corto Maltese and was pointed to a café where Thea was working. Thea admitted to lying that she was in Italy because she needed space. Oliver understood that and asked if Thea can finally come home with him, but Thea refused.

Diggle approached Shaw while Oliver spied on them. Shaw pulled out a knife, and Diggle managed to talk him out and had Shaw confirmed his identity. Shaw revealed to Diggle that there would be a sale of A.R.G.U.S. intel regarding its targets, agents, etc. Diggle went with Shaw where the supposed sale would talke place until he realized that Shaw has tricked him. Shaw tased him and took a chip from him.

Felicity arrived at Q Consolidated, where Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) was waiting for her and her assistant. Palmer asked Felicity to recover some files from the applied sciences hard drive, and then he left. Felicity’s new office used to be Oliver’s.

Laurel opened up to an AA meeting and revealed that although she did not resort to drinking after her sister’s death, she said that she was angry and did not know how to deal with it. She stopped talking when her father (Paul Blackthorne) arrived. A girl named Erica opened up about her boyfriend beating her up.

Back at Q Consolidated, Felicity was having a sort of meeting with Palmer when Diggle called her to track someone, as well as Felicity. She only came up with an excuse, “long story,” to Palmer.

Oliver told Diggle about his plans of revealing the truth to Thea. Diggle tried to stop Oliver, but he has nothing to lose. So he revealed to Thea about how their father died. He told Thea that their parents’ sacrifices would be put into waste if they were not together. Thea said she would think about it.

Meanwhile, Laurel wore a mask and Sara’s jacket and tried to avenge Erica by beating up her boyfriend. In the end, it was Laurel who got beaten up and ended on a hospital bed.

Roy, Diggle and Oliver spied on Shaw while the sale was on going. Mercenaries came, and they engaged in a fight. While Roy and Oliver tried to defeat the mercenaries, Diggle chased after Shaw. When he reached him, Shaw begged Diggle to tell Amanda that he is dead, but Diggle refused. Oliver was able to take the intel.

Thea and Malcolm engaged in a mock fight. When Thea managed to put the sword on Malcolm’s throat, he agreed to let her go, but not with Thea realizing that he let her win.

At the airport, a hot coffee spills on Thea’s hand, but she did not react.

While Roy and Oliver were talking about Thea in Verdant, Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law) showed up, demanding where Sara is.

As for Laurel, she decided to enroll at Ted’s gym to learn how to fight. Palmer, on the other hand, opened a top secret file regarding advanced weapons.
