“Arrow” Season 2 Episode 22 “Streets of Fire” Recap:
Previously on “Arrow” (“Streets of Fire” Season 2 Episode 22), Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) had to get out of the tunnel. Laurel found his quiver of arrows, and Oliver instructed her to look for one with an explosive tip. Laurel did and made her way out.
Diggle (David Ramsey), on the other hand, was face to face with Isabel (Summer Glau). Isabel was empowered by the Mirakuru. She mentioned about killing Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) next when she was done with Diggle. Unfortunately, Isabel got hit by a truck. Who was the driver? It was none other than Felicity.
In Sebastian Blood’s office, a Deathstroke came breaking a state attorney’s neck. Blood (Kevin Alejandro) tried to stop him, but the minion ignored his order. Sorry Blood, it seemed that they only answer to one boss. Obviously, it’s not you.
Laurel and Oliver were now with Felicity and Diggle. Felicity told them that STAR Labs already has the cure. However, the courier who was supposed to bring the cure met an accident. The four of them went their separate ways, with Laurel going to the police headquarters alone. Slade (Manu Bennett) wiretapped their conversation and ordered one of his soldiers to look for the courier.
The Black Canary came to the rescue when Laurel was almost trapped. Sara (Caity Lotz) told Laurel about her identity, and that she was not a hero. While a house was burning and a kid was trapped, Sara rescued the kid, and Laurel had proven her point. This got Sara thinking that maybe she was indeed a hero. Meanwhile, Det. Lance (Paul Blackthorne) had seen the Canary’s deed. He had another hero in mind.
Blood went to Slade’s lair. He wanted to know the truth behind Slade’s Deathstrokes destroying Starling City. Slade clarified that they both have differing plans, but it all boiled down to one thing—Slade will take everything, everyone, that Oliver Queen loves. And yes, that included the city.
Slade’s minions made it first to the courier and took the cure. When Team Arrow arrived, a whole lot of masked soldiers were waiting for them. Oliver was on the brink of blaming himself for what had happened to the city. Good thing that Felicity was there for some words of encouragement.
Blood, perhaps wanted to be heroic, called Oliver and told him to get the cure in his office. Not knowing what awaits them, Oliver and Diggle went to his office and retrieved the cure. Blood told Oliver about Slade killing whoever he loves. Hmmm, Sara? Thea (Willa Holland)? Laurel? He warned Oliver to keep his identity as a secret—Brother Blood.
Isabel arrived shortly after Diggle and Oliver left Blood’s office. Then, she stabbed Blood on the chest with her swords.
ARGUS was now planning on bombing the city. If it meant taking lives, then so be it. During a phone conversation, Amanda (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) told Oliver about the plan. Oliver stopped her from implementing it as he had the cure that could stop Slade’s army. Amanda agreed and gave Oliver before dawn before the city turns into a crater.
As for Thea, she was in the train when a Deathstroke grabbed her. Then, we saw two arrows hitting it. It turned out that the Dark Archer was back. The almost fallen minion managed to ask the man who hit him. He answered, “I’m her father.” Thea tried to run away from Malcolm (John Barrowman), but he told her that he was all she has got now, especially that Moira (Susanna Thompson) is dead. The man clarified that he only wanted to keep Thea safe. Then, Thea pulled out her gun, and two gunshots were heard. Do you think Malcolm died?
