According to, DC will feature the character on its New 52 timeline. She will be reincarnated as the Arrow Version of Felicity Smoak, blonde and with glasses, unlike her original 80’s look, which was originally a minor character for another comic. She was “The Fury of Firestorm”/Ronnie Raymond, who compromises half of the superhero Firestorm, stepmom.

The latest issue on the monthly Green Arrow comic book was taken over by showrunner Andrew Kreisberg and writer Ben Sokolowski. They revamped the comics by transforming the graphic novel into something that feels more like the TV show. In her 80’s version, Smoak was the manager of a computer software firm in New York City who sued the hero Firestorm.  It was during a meta human battle that  inadvertently magnetized an expensive cache of software programs which nearly destroyed Felicity’s business. During this time, Felicity developed a romantic relationship with reporter Ed Raymond, Ronnie’s father. Over time, Felicity and Ed fell deeply in love and were married, by this point Felicity has learned the truth about Ronnie Raymond’s dual identity and has come to forgive him for his past transgressions and came to support his career as Firestorm.

Introduced in The CW television series “Arrow, Emily Bett Rickards who plays Smoak originally signed as a one-episode guest star, but her chemistry with star Stephen Amell coupled with positive fan reaction led to her first being signed as a recurring co-star in the rest of the first season, and then as a regular character for the second season.
