Good news for fans! “Assassin’s Creed” fans still have over a year to wait for the movie to hit the theatres, but Fassbender, who is rumored to play the game’s protagonist, Desmond Miles recently told Coming Soon that filming begins in September. Fassbender also addressed issues about the movie’s long production, making some fans wonder if the video game will really come into the big screen.
“You say it’s a long time but what I’ve found-it’s all new to me but starting to develop scripts and work on them, they take time,” he said.
The 38-year-old actor also revealed that there was a good reason for the long delay in the movie’s production. According to Fassbender, making a good story come into the big screen takes a lot of time and him along with the rest of the staff and crew want to get the right picture.
When asked about his rumored character, Fassbender teased the outlet and said: “Don’t listen to what they tell you, that’s the first rule.”
Little is still known about the “Assassin’s Creed” movie including the storyline that the film will take on. According to Cinema Blend, “Assassin’s Creed” follows the story of a bartender named Desmond Miles who is kidnapped by a company named Abstergo Industries. The company forced Miles to undergo an experiment using a device called the Animus in an attempt to relive the memories of his ancestors and retrieve an artifact called the Pieces of Eden.
The “X-Men: First Class” actor admitted that choosing the storyline for the movie is a challenge, as the video game has a lot of key elements in it, which must perfectly translate to the audience. Fassbender stars alongside Marion Cotillard whose role in the film remains unknown.
