‘Avatar 2’ News Update: James Cameron Hints At Villain Of The Sequel
When in 2009 James Cameron brought the world of Pandora through his film “Avatar,” the entire world was in awe and ever since its release, all the fans and critics have been curiously waiting for its sequel.
The characters that James Cameron penned and executed has given a whole new dimension to the art of film making. The technology which he used while filming was deeply inspired from Peter Jackson’s “Lords of the Ring” series with characters like Gollum. According to the direction point of view, all the roles, which Cameron defined in the film has their own significance.
“Avatar” earned $2.788 billion against a budget of $237M, and speculations are there that “Avatar 2” will break this box-office record.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Sigourney Weaver, who portrayed the memorable role of Dr. Grace Augustine, will reprise the role in “Avatar 2.” Not only Sigourney, but if the recent updates are true then there are chances that James Cameron will also bring back Stephen Lang in the upcoming film.
In “Avatar,” Neytiri shot two arrows to Colonel Miles Quaritch’s chest but according to one article in CinemaBlend, there are chances that Stephen Lang will be back in the sequel. According to Deadline, James Cameron stated that Stephen Lang is like the “Darth Vader” of the “Avatar” franchise. Fans have speculated that he will make a comeback as villian again for “Avatar 2.”
“Steven was so memorable in the first film, we’re privileged to have him back,” James Cameron added.
James Cameron, however, did not show much about the Stephen’s role in “Avatar 2” but it looks like that the screenwriter and the director has some real plans for the actor. “His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga,” he further added.
The new installment of “Avatar” will have a prison theme way down under the oceans of Pandora. According to Vinereport, the upcoming part will include the coordination between Humans and Na’vi. The new world of Pandora will have awe-inspiring as “Titanic” director James Cameron is busy preparing a set that will show large oceans and new mesmerizing creatures.
“Avatar 2” is expected to release in 2017.
