‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’: Thanos’ Words in the Mid Credits Scene Explained
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” had one of the best showdowns in the superhero world, right? The team was fighting against a megalomaniac robot called Ultron because of his beliefs and ambition to get rid of humanity. If one megalomaniac was not enough, the makers put in the biggest one in the end of the movie. The Mad Titan made his presence felt and raised some questions. Read on for more details.
According to Cinema Blend, at this point everyone is aware of what Thanos will be doing ultimately in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the motive of destroying the universe, he will stop at nothing until he has had the right equipment to help him do that. In this case, it’s the Infinity stones that are going to aide him in doing what he wants to and acquiring them happens to be his only ambition.
So a question should ideally rise in people’s mind and that revolves around the mad titan’s dialogue in the end of the movie. He obviously is referring to the previous two failed attempts at getting the stones in the face of Loki and Ronan. However, if you really ponder on his statement, it could create some confusion. The meaning is quite clear but why make him say that in the end of this movie? The mad Titan had no connection to either the movie or the lead characters or even the antagonist Ultron. Ultron wanted the mind stone for himself so that he could use it for his own ambition. He also was not aware of Thanos and certainly was not going to gift him the stone.
In fact the statement by Thanos comes across as if he has something against the Avengers and wants to destroy them. When the truth is that he hasn’t even encountered them yet. Destroying the Avengers is something that Ultron would do but not Thanos. Having said the line, Thanos is only concerned about getting the stones for himself and in reality he will be fighting the superhero team because they are the only thing that is standing between him and the stones.
