‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Update: First Official Trailer to Run with ‘Interstellar’
According to Comicbook.com, the first official trailer for the upcoming Marvel sequel pic “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will be released attached to the prints of Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi pic “Interstellar.” For more details on this story read on.
“Interstellar” features a team of space travelers who travel through a wormhole. With the world facing shortage of food and supplies, the only way for mankind to survive is for it to learn interstellar travel. McConaughey plays the leading role of Cooper, a widower, a trained pilot and engineer. When a wormhole is discovered, McConaughey is tasked to save the world. But in order to do so, he must leave his two children behind. Finding himself in the company of various explorers and scientists, Cooper must embark on an epic voyage that will transcend the limits of human space travel.
“Interstellar” features an award-winning cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine. Warner Brothers, Paramount and Legendary Pictures co-financed the film written by Nolan and his brother, Jonathan Nolan.
Moreover, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will follow the events of the original film. With S.H.I.E.L.D.’s abolition on “Captain America: Winter Soldier” and the Avengers needing a hiatus from stopping threats Tony Stark creates Ultron, a self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence, who can assess threats and control Stark’s Iron Legion. However, things go awry as his plan quickly backfires when Ultron decides that humans are the main enemy and sets out to eradicate them from Earth. The superhero team will confront newcomers Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, as well as, Vision.
The original cast will be suiting up to reprise with roles along with Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Hayley Atwell, Thomas Kretschmann and Stellan Skarsgård reprise their roles from previous MCU films as Maria Hill, Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Peggy Carter, Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, and Erik Selvig respectively. Claudia Kim was cast as a scientist and friend of Tony Stark while Andy Serkis is playing an undisclosed role in the film. James Spader plays central villain Ultron. Avengers’ co-creator Stan Lee is set to make a cameo appearance.
Paul Bettany, who voiced J.A.R.V.I.S. (Tony Stark’s AI butler) in previous films, will now play the synthezoid Vision an android who is able to control his density which enables him to phase through walls, fly or have a diamond-hard near invulnerability. The Vision will be joined by Magneto’s twin daughter and son, Pietro Maximoff and Wanda Maximoff/ Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen respectively.
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015 in North America, in 2D and IMAX 3D, while Interstellar” is set to be released in theaters in November 2014, Nov. 5, 2014 in Belgium, France and Switzerland; Nov. 6, 2014 in the United Kingdom; and Nov. 7, 2014 in the United States and Canada. Paramount will distribute the film in North America while Warner Bros. will distribute the film in the remaining territories.
