Avengers: Infinity War: Marvel Villains Who Can Defeat Thanos
Avengers: Infinity War is the upcoming major Marvel event that will see the Avengers fighting Thanos. With the mad titan seeking to destroy all life, Avengers will have to use all force they have to defend the planet.
With some Marvel heroes capable of fighting and defeating Thanos, the question is if there are some Marvel villains who can do the same?
Marvel villains are unique in their own way. Some of them are mischievous, some megalomaniac while some pure evil. So given the number of villains that Marvel has, here are some that can defeat Thanos.
Surtur The Fire Demon
Surtur is mainly a Thor villain and is known to be extremely powerful. Often considered as an Odin equal, the demon has a sword called Twilight.
He is able to manipulate matter at a molecular level and his sword emits such an amount of energy that it is more powerful than Thanos’. The Fire demon will be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok and if rumors are to be believed than he will be Thanos’ servant.
The whole servant angle will only come to play if Thanos is wearing the Infinity Gauntlet.

Galactus is the only living cosmic being that belongs to the universe before the Big Bang. He is from a world that was way more developed than the current one and is himself huge in size.
The cosmic being devours planets daily to survive and has another powerful character called Silver Surfer who finds these planets to him.
With Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos does become the most powerful being but there have been numerous occasions where Galactus quite easily defeated Thanos.
Dormammu of the Dark Dimension is probably the only villain who comes close to matching Thanos’ powers. Since Thanos’ powers get ridiculously elevated because of the Gauntlet, without it Dormammu can easily defeat him.
As a master of spells, Dormammu has the knowledge of almost unlimited number of spells that he can use. Also his energy manipulations are far stronger than Thanos.
With Dormammu already seen in Doctor Strange, it would be interesting to see if Thanos and Dormammu end up clashing in the MCU or not.
Cinema Blend reported that Marvel Studios recently teased an Avengers: Infinity War meeting that took place recently. Louis D’Esposito tweeted that he was in the coolest meeting ever and shared a picture of Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet.
Avengers: Infinity War will release on May 4, 2018.
