‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will mark the end of Captain America, Iron Man & Thor?
“Avengers: Infinity War” is couple of years away but when you witness signs that some of the major heroes from “Avengers” will probably not be there to defend everyone from the most powerful threat yet, it gets you thinking “if not they, then who?” If reports are to be believed then Captain America, Iron Man & Thor will meet their end somewhere around “Avengers: Infinity War- Part II” or maybe earlier.
According to Movie Pilot, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said that “Infinity War- Part II” will serve as a finale to what Marvel Cinematic Universe started in 2008 with “Iron Man.”
Simultaneously introducing new members of the “Avengers” team in the end of “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” it seems Marvel might just pitch a new team against the mad titan Thanos who will be visiting Earth in “Avengers: Infinity War.” If we were to take a look at the current line-up of the major heroes “Avengers” has, we might be able to deduce something.
Captain America aka Chris Evans’s last movie in his Marvel contract is said to be “Avengers: Infinity War- Part I.” This movie will officially end his six-movie deal with Marvel since the movie itself is the sixth one. But what next after that? It will still take one more part to take down Thanos and if Evans was to leave the MCU after having completed his six-movie deal, does that mean the “Avengers” would be fighting Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War- Part II” without Captain America?
Not much is known about it but the comic book story of “Captain America: Civil War,” (which Evans is shooting for currently) witnessed Steve’s death at the hands of Crossbones and Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier became the next Captain America. So, there are chances that Sebastian Stan could become the next Captain America in “Avengers: Infinity War-Part II” if Evans was to leave MCU.
Tony Stark, on the other hand, has been really inclined towards retiring from the persona of Iron Man and that was made pretty evident in “Iron Man 3.” It was when he had all the armors destroyed so that he could focus on his life with Pepper Pots. But “Avengers: Age of Ultron” witnessed him taking up the armor again and so will “Captain America: Civil War.” There’s certainly some kind of inner conflict going on in the character’s mind and with Robert Downey Jr. having a movie-to-movie deal with Marvel, he might just choose to retire permanently from being “Iron Man.”
Lastly Thor, the God of Thunder has his own problems to take care of. Norse Apocalypse is bound to happen and “Thor 3: Ragnarok” will be an account of that. Some are saying Gods will perish at the hands of Thanos who has already set his eyes on Asgard in his quest to find all the Infinity stones and to use it on his Infinity Gauntlet. If Thanos successfully destroys Asgard and Thor lives to see the destruction right in front of his eyes, his sole aim would be to resurrect Asgard. Chris Hemsworth has been signed on till “Avengers: Infinity War-Part II” but Thor’s fate still comes across as uncertain. He could fight alongside old allies Captain America & Iron Man in “Avengers: Infinity War- Part I” or perhaps the newer breed in the second part, but to what extent does his participation is still remains to be seen. You never know he might just provide help in both the parts of Infinity War from Asgard itself.
“Avengers: Infinity War- Part I” & “Avengers: Infinity War- Part II” are due to release in May 2018 and May 2019 respectively.
