Bad Judge Recap: What Is Best in Life? [WATCH VIDEO]

Bad Judge” Season 1 Episode 6 “What Is Best in Life?” aired on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on NBC. Tedward asked Rebecca for a favor, but she didn’t pull through immediately. Meanwhile, her arch nemesis from law school is in her court. Read on to find out what happened in this episode.

Arriving in the courthouse, Rebecca (Kate Walsh) was greeted by DA Tom (John Ducey) who was too excited to tell the judge that Dana McCoy (Rachel Harris) was going to be in her courtroom. Dana, Tom and Rebecca had a history together. They were from the same group in law school. But Dana and Rebecca had a competitive relationship even today.

Rebecca: I know how hard it was for you to pass the bar.
Dana: Well, if anyone knows how hard it is to pass a bar, it’s you.

Dana wasn’t impressed with Rebecca’s accomplishments, and in court, she kept belittling her former classmate. Tom wondered if this was going to be a problem. But Rebecca knew how to handle Dana.

Meanwhile, in her chambers, Rebecca found Tedward (Tone Bell) holding a bolt of fur. He was going to prepare his costume for the Conan-Con, the annual gathering of fans of “Conan the Barbarian” with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the special guest. He convinced Rebecca to join him cause he needed a “token white.” But Rebecca didn’t want to go. It was not her thing. Tedward asked everyone, and no one still wanted to go with him.

Back in court, Rebecca was to decide on the case of Mr. Latardo, a football player who allegedly mooned a Ms. Mayhew. The latter was so traumatized by what happened that she can no longer go out during full moon, or eat a bun, or sew buttons on garments, as this reminded her of the incident. She was suing for $3 million, which Rebecca thought was absurd, but she proceeded with hearing the case anyway, as Dana was defending Latardo.

Dana alluded that her appointment as judge was part of former Governor Schwarzenegger’s plan to give the judiciary a “breast lift.” Did she not notice only beautiful judges were in the judiciary during the former governor’s term?

Rebecca: For your information, Schwarzenegger didn't make me Valedictorian, he didn't help me pass the bar. He didn't make me a stellar district attorney.

Later, Rebecca asked her boss, Judge Hernandez (Miguel Sandoval), if this breast lift issue was true. But Hernandez dodged her questions.

In the court, Ms. Mayhem was called to the stand to give the details as to why she was suing. But Dana cross-examined her and showed a photo of Latardo’s buttocks, which had Alec Baldwin’s face tattooed on it. Ms. Mayhem does not remember seeing this when she was mooned. Latardo’s butt, as far as she can remember, did not have any tattoos.

Back in her chambers, Rebecca warned Tom that Ms. Mayhem’s case may be thrown out because it didn’t have any merit, which was fine with the DA because Ms. Mayhem had a breakdown while having lunch with him when someone wanted butter for his bun. He could not take it anymore and would be careful choosing pro bono cases next time.

As Rebecca was looking into this breast lift issue on the internet, Tedward suggested that she could come with him to Conan-Con and ask the governor herself, since he was going to be at the event anyway. So now, Rebecca had a reason to go, which made Tedward happy. They went in full costume. Only, Schwarzenegger was a no show, and worse, they were the only ones wearing themed outfits! They looked silly. The costume was apparently optional.

Tedward asked a visibily disappointed Rebecca why knowing if she was part of Schwarzenegger’s breast lift plan was important. She’s a really good judge. She’s the best judge he has worked for. The story behind the appointments shouldn’t matter.

Back in court,  it looked like Mr. Latardo’s butt cheek was in pain. Rebecca knew tattoo infections all too well, as she had these before, which meant that Latardo had his tattoo freshly done after the mooning! But the judge still dismissed Ms. Mayhem’s suit, not after she also chastised Latardo for behaving like a douche and fined Dana for contempt, though.

Later that day, as Rebecca was unwinding at the bar, Judge Hernandez approached her to tell her this:

Judge Hernandez: It doesn't matter how you got the robe, Rebecca. It just matters what you do with it once you get there. And you…you do a great job.
