BAFTA Awards 2015 Nominations: ‘Budapest’ & Britannia Rule Nominations [WATCH VIDEO]
Preparations at the Royal Opera house to host the BAFTA awards is on full swing as the vent will be held there for the ninth year in a row. The nominees were announced for the 2015 awards live from the Princess Anne Theatre on Piccadilly on Jan. 9, 2015. Read on for more details about the nominees.
BAFTA’s Chair Anne Morrison, Stephen Fry and Sam Claflin announced the nominees shortly after 7.35am. A panel of industry critics including Zoe Ball, Boyd Hilton, Rhianna Dhillon and Matt Risley had a live panel chat afterwards to give their takes on what the nominations will mean to each of the nominees. They came ahead of the The 2015 British Academy Film Awards (better known as the BAFTAs) in February at the Opera House which Stephen Fry will host.
“The Grand Budapest Hotel,” leading the list with 11 nominations, followed closely by “Birdman,” and “The Theory Of Everything,” with 10 each. “The Imitation Game,” grabbed nine nods, while “Boyhood,” and “Whiplash,” pick up five nods respectively.
The winners of the 68th British Academy Film Awards will be announced on Feb. 8, 2015.
