‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:’ Jeremy Irons As Alfred Will Be Completely Different From Other Versions

You may have seen him in the trailer of the movie. He’s the one with the heavy voice and makes his opinion about “how good men turn cruel.” He can also be seen and heard saying that Superman is not their enemy when Bruce decides to destroy the Man of Steel. After all these stuff, one might get a fair share of idea as to what kind of Alfred will Jeremy Irons bring in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

According to We Got This Covered, Jeremy Irons was at the Toronto International Film Festival when he was asked about his role in the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The actor mentioned that Alfred this time around will be completely different because director Zack Snyder wanted to show an absolutely new butler/friend/mentor to Bruce Wayne.

According to the actor, Zack’s brief was to show a reincarnation of the character to remove all the pressure on his shoulders and he didn’t have to carry any baggage from the previous ones. It is being believed that Alfred this time around will be involved more with the operations the Dark Knight undertakes and constantly making his opinions heard.

Jeremy mentioned that he in a way has created a completely different Alfred of his own; he’s the kind of man who can do anything if he wants to. In some other stills from the movie that were released, Alfred can be seen standing next to Ben Affleck’s Bruce as the latter is looking at the debris of the Wayne Manor with repentance. If fans remember, Michael Caine’s Alfred was a retired SAS operative who was more like a father figure to Bruce. His approach towards Bruce was to guide him through his words and hope that his young master will understand.

Comicbook.com suggested that Jeremy’s version of Alfred might just get physical with Bruce in order to make a point with his now cynical master who believes no one. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will release next year on March 25th.
