‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:’ The Movie Confirmed As ‘Man of Steel 2’
Now with the recent update revealing itself, it will undoubtedly put more weightage to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Director of the movie Zack Snyder shared some crucial update about the movie actually being “Man of Steel 2,” putting an end to the questions about Superman’s importance in the DC Extended Universe.
According to Slash Film, everyone was concerned about Superman’s fate ending up like the Hulk’s fate in the MCU. Fans were asking various questions about the “Man of Steel” sequel and to which direction the makers planning to take Superman. But recent clarification from Zack Snyder will perhaps put an end to any further doubt about the Man of Steel’s future.
According to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” director, he is indeed making a sequel to “Man of Steel,” and it has been titled “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Zack believes that the movie is in a way “Man of Steel” sequel because it follows up on the events of “Man of Steel” and shows how Superman is coping up with the after effects of his attempts to save his adopted world. If you look at the trailer closely, Ben Affleck’s Bruce can be seen shouting and running towards the falling building, which is caused because of Superman and Zod’s fight. This was an attempt to show that when Superman was fighting General Zod in “Man of Steel,” Bruce was in Metropolis on the same day. That’s when he first handedly saw Superman’s powers and became increasingly cynical.
It should also be noted that if “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is “Man of Steel 2,” then the sole intention of making the movie would be to introduce Batman in the equation and continue the story keeping in mind the aftermath shown in “Man of Steel.” It will also show what actions Batman will be taking after seeing Superman’s powers.
IGN added that Zack also spoke about the “Justice League” movies and mentioned that “Justice League” is kind of the transcendent, Knights of the Round Table story. Since the movie will be showing the seven founding members of the “Justice League,” it only makes more sense to call it that. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will release on March 25th next year.
