The 1998 comedy fantasy film “Beetlejuice” is making a return with its proposed sequel after such a long span. It is said to be one of the best and most successful films of the 80s’. According to Cinema Blend, Geena Davis was asked about her role of lovely ghost Barbara Maitland. She is very excited to hear about the happening of “Beetlejuice” sequel and love to get into it. It is one of her far most lovable character and flick. She further added that since ghost didn’t age, but humans do, Alec Baldwin perhaps might have aged.
The 59-year-old Academy Award winner star seems very happy with the news but is not sure about the reprise for her role. The plot and story development might have some idea to get her fit into the role, but that’s far from now. The idea of a sequel has just incepted and will take more twists and turns before we hear any official announcement on the same.
The 1988 “Beetlejuice” was directed by “Corpse Bride” director Tim Burton with the lead role of Michael Keaton as Betelgeuse. The original plot revolves around a cute young Maitland couple who die at a young age and become a ghost of their former home while Betelgeuse tries to scare them away permanently.
Tim Burton will remain in charge for the “Beetlejuice” sequel and might start working on it at the end of this year.
