“Begin Again” Synopsis:
Dan Mulligan was a music veteran who got kicked out from the record label he built because he could not bring in a bankable talent for years. He was already separated from his wife, Miriam, and they shared a daughter named Violet.
Gretta and Dave had been together for five years, until fame took Dave away from Gretta. While singing her heart out in a pub, Dan heard her. Dan soon approached Gretta into making her famous. Gretta told him that she was not interested, that she wrote songs/music for pleasure.
The next thing happened was Dan courting Gretta in a professional way. Slowly, Gretta started to believe and trust Dan.

The Wrap’s Steve Pond wrote in his review about the film’s plot that can make a person feel good. He emphasized that it does not have to be a big movie, just a film crafted out of a simple story that was told with sensitivity and warmth.
“There are times when the thing you want most is not a big, important movie but a simple, beautiful story told with sensitivity, warmth, humor and a big heart. Times when you don’t need a movie to save your life, you just need a movie to make you feel good,” said Pond in The Wrap article.
