Ben Affleck May Direct Solo ‘Batman’ Movie
Ben Affleck’s directorial skills were put to test when he directed “Argo” is no news. Everyone was all praises when the movie scored big in various award ceremonies. The actor who is currently filming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was rumored to get a solo Batman movie later apart from the two-part “Justice League” movies that his character will be appearing in. The movie that was slated for a 2019 release has a new information aboard. Read on.
According to Cinema Blend, that reported about Warner Bros. planning something big for DC Cinematic Universe. The studio had purposely kept plans about solo “Batman” movie off the slate after giving a possible release date set for 2019.
Reports are coming in that the solo movie, which is being tentatively titled “The Batman,” will be directed by Affleck himself. The movie is aiming at a 2018 release instead of the previously speculated 2019.
Another rumor had also put Affleck’s name as the director for “Justice League” movies since he had done such an amazing job on “Argo.” The new solo movie will have Chris Terrio write the screenplay for it who’s also working on the “Justice League” movies.
With “Suicide Squad” currently filming and featuring some of the biggest enemies the Dark Knight has encountered, it could prove to be an added advantage since one could hope to see one of the villains fighting the Batman in his own movie.
Some of the most preferred villains that we would love to see would be the evil Prince of Crime, The Joker himself or one could also imagine Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot who has a unique equation with the Batman starring as the villain. If that happens then an opportunity of watching Affleck and Smith together on screen would really be worth a watch.
For the mean time, Ben Affleck’s Batman has to think about how to contain the Man of Steel in next year’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
