‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Cast To Reprise Roles In Lifetime Movie? Release Date Confirmed?
Lifetime is reportedly planning to release a “Beverly Hills 90210” TV movie soon. It was said that the film will focus on the first four seasons of the hit series which aired from 1990 to 2000. The cast members are reportedly in talks to reprise their roles in the film.
As previously reported by Variety, an unauthorized telepic of “Beverly Hills 90210” is in the works, following “Full House” and “Saved by the Bell.” It was said that the story will focus on the drama between cast members both on and off set. Never-before-seen footages will be aired including the several instances when the show was nearly cancelled.
The “Beverly Hills 90210” movie will be directed by Vanessa Parise, with the script penned by Jeff Roda. The film is expected to premiere on Aug. 22.
The original cast members, however, will not be reprising their roles as a set of all-new actors have come on board. Although the network has yet to reveal the full list of the cast members, some entertainment sites have started creating a list of the “dream cast” for the exciting film.
According to the film producers, “The Unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210” movie will show fans “”the series’ journey from several near-cancellations to its massive success and imprint in the cultural zeitgeist and lasting impression it has made on millions of people to this day.”
“Beverly Hills 90210” follows the lives of elite high school students living in Beverly Hills, California. The main cast includes Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, and Gabrielle Carteris among others. The show ran ran for 10 seasons from 1990 to 2000.
