Bill Cosby Files Counter Suite Against ‘Victims’; Does This Prove His Guilt?
Bill Cosby, the renowned stand-up comedian recently filed a counter suite against seven women who tried to defame him on the accusation of sexual assault. Though there are around 50 women who have claimed to have been assaulted by Cosby during his 80s hit television show “The Cosby Show”. The incidents have taken place decades ago and the earliest one was reported back in 60s.
According to Reuters, the suite is filed in the district court of Springfield, Massachusetts, stating that the women have defamed Cosby on the pretext of sexual assault. Cosby has been denying the accusations and has never been charged for that.
It is alleged that many women have come ahead mentioning that Cosby assaulted them under the influence of drugs and alcohol. 78-year-old Cosby called the alleged victims “liars” when they accused him of assault. Attorney Gloria Allred stated that, Cosby suing the women proves that he has victimized them and is guilty. Allred have represented many victims who have been assaulted by Cosby.
Over the years, many victims have come ahead and because of that the awards and titles received by Cosby have been revoked. He has never been charged criminally for any proceeding as the cases are out of limitations.
In a testimony released in 2005, Cosby admitted to the fact of using the sedative Quaaludes, which was considered illegal during 70s. He confessed to have used the drug for having casual sex with women.
Bill Cosby will be fighting a counter suite now against the allegedly victimized women. The decade-old misconduct case by attorney Gloria Allred states that the lawsuit is not going to hinder the battle against Cosby and they will keep fighting.
