‘Black Panther’ Update: Ryan Coogler in Talks to Helm the Project
After the departure of Ava Duvernay from the director’s seat of “Black Panther,” the upcoming project of Marvel Studio, now the name of Ryan Coogler of Creed fame is coming to light for holding the helmer’s chair for the same. Read on.
It was previously reported that Joe Robert Cole, the in-house writer of Marvel’s team will write the script for the movie. Meanwhile, the “Straight Outta Compton” director F. Gary Gray will take the direction work in his hands. However, Screen Rant reported that Gary also said no for the project because of him taking the direction responsibility of the eighth installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Now, if we believe the rumors then Marvel is eyeing the young Coogler to handle the direction work for “Black Panther.”
Coogler’s first movie as a director was 2013’s released “Fruitvale Station.” It received a very good response from the side of the critics as well as from the audience. He is noe waiting for his another movie “Creed’s” which is slated for release on November 25. “Creed” is a spin-off of Sylvester Stallone starrer “Rocky” movie series and the last movie in the series was released in 2006.
It seems that the studio decided Coogler’s name after seeing his efforts for making a film perfectly and providing newness to the story. Fans are already aware of the character of Black Panther, but this is the first time that an individual film is under development for the same character. So, by assigning the task to the young mind, Marvel might be thinking of bringing newness to the overall movie.
Well, till now no confirmation has come from the side of Ryan Coogler but one thing is clear that Marvel will try to woo the director for accepting this project otherwise it will be delayed further. So, all the very best Marvel Studio.
