Blake Shelton Least Expected Gwen Stefani To Stand By Him

Blake Shelton revealed that the last person he expected to be his side was Gwen Stefani during his difficult time.

Shelton launched his first single track “Came Here To Forget” from his 10^th album “If I’m Honest” this May.

“This is a song I absolutely fell in love with the first time I heard it, [Songwriter] Craig Wiseman was given the task to write a song for me about what had happened to me in my personal life and when I first started seeing Gwen, it’s all in there. The only difference is we didn’t actually meet in a bar,” Shelton said in an interview with Country Countdown USA on Friday, May 20 according to US Weekly.

The 39-year-old singer and the “Make Me Like You” singer are in a relationship for 6 months but he is already gushing about Stefani. Shelton said earlier that he and Stefani as a couple will not work much.

“It’s not something that anybody could have seen coming, besides God, I guess. It doesn’t look like it makes sense, you know? But all I can tell you is, it does, it just makes a perfect sense for us and where we’re at in our lives,” Shelton said in an interview with Taste of Country.

It was in July 2015 when “The Voice” coach and his ex-wife Miranda Lambert got divorced. The “Hollaback” star and her ex-beau Gavin Rossdale also got separated the next month. Soon after both the singers got over with their respective partners, Shelton and Stefani started seeing each other.

Shelton shared what he went through post his separation from Lambert and he was also confused as he did not know as to when he should share about his love live. He also explained that it was nobody else but Stefani whom he started seeing. He further continued if it would have been possible for him to keep his personal life away from the spotlight then he would have done that but as he could not so he would not mind sharing with his fans either.

The common issue between the couple is their divorce with their respective partners which helped them to bond well. Thereafter, they also recorded a duet song “Go Ahead And Break My Heart.”

He was all smiles when he admitted that he never expected Stefani to stand by him during his tough time. It was Stefani who helped him stand on his own feet overcoming the dark phase of his life.

Shelton and Stefani rocked the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22 by their duet performance. Stefani shared a snap on Snapchat while Shelton was busy sound checking.
