In this episode, Jane Doe’s (Jaimie Alexander) safe house is breached, killing the only person who knew about her past. While they waited for more results on that case, the entire team gets involved in a hunt for the Candyman Jewelry Thieves after they discovered that one of the crew members, now at a hospital, might just know who Jane is. Meanwhile, FBI Special Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) had Jane’s DNA tested to see if she truly was Taylor Shaw. However, this will be the least of their worries, as next week’s episode will also prove to be even more action packed, giving a vital clue as to what exactly happened to Jane. WARNING: This article will contain spoilers for “Eight Slim Grins” as well as Episode 4 “Bone May Rot”. Read on to learn more about these episodes.

The episode began where it left off, with Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) fighting off the man (Johnny Whitworth), she remembered in the few memories she did have. He then told her that he was there to save her, and told her not to “trust them,” before he was shot by a team of snipers.

The next morning, a jewelry store was hit by a professional group of thieves, whose one of men, Casey Robek (Michael Rogers), gotten shot. He was captured and later brought in to hospital for surgery.

Back at FBI Headquarters, after discovering that Casey had the exact SEAL tattoo as Jane, the entire team refocused their attention to catching this band of international jewelry thieves known as the Candymen.

At the same time, FBI Special Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) was having Jane’s DNA tested to see if she was truly Taylor Shaw, and wanted to tell her, but FBI Assistant Director Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) decided that it wasn’t wise to tell her yet.

They soon discovered that Casey’s brother, Travis Robek (Adam David Thompson) and their friend Omar Moore (Ohene K. Cornelius) were part of the crew, and managed to track them down to a mini mall in Queens, where Weller told Jane to stay in the car.

Instead, she went out to the parking lot where she spotted Travis, whom she ran after, and who ended up getting away. Thankfully, they were able to track down the girl that the crew used in order to case their latest hit. She proved to be helpful, and told them that Omar had a boat, causing FBI Agents Edgar Reade (Rob Brown) and Tasha Zapata (Audrey Esparza) to search all of the marinas nearby.

Meanwhile, Jane and Weller headed back to the hospital as Casey was out of surgery and was conscious, although he was still resting and could only communicate non-verbally.

Back at the FBI Headquarters, Patterson alerted Mayfair that one of Jane’s tattoos pointed to a case file involving a gang leader- a case which Mayfair had been the lead officer on.

While waiting for Casey to wake up, the entire hospital was taken over by Travis and his men so that he could get his brother back. Weller and Jane managed to hold them off, and managed to catch up to Travis, who later ended up opting to die by trying to shoot them.

Because of this, Casey passed away as well, but not before telling Jane that he knew her because of something called Orion.

Later, Mayfair told Jane that she was going to be placed on Weller’s team, and Patterson confirmed that Jane is Taylor Shaw.

Later that evening, Mayfair met up with another man, as she felt that the people who orchestrated the entire thing about Jane knew about a top secret operation called Daylight.

However Jane having a target on her back because of this top secret operation will be the least of their worries, as according to the promotional video and the official synopsis released on Spoiler TV for next week’s episode, “Bone May Rot,” the entire team will have to race against time to save the entire human race from not just one, but several outbreaks, after Patterson and her boyfriend, David (Joe Dinicol), a puzzle enthusiast, discover numbers on Jane’s cheeks and forehead after shined upon with a black light, which correspond to a particular disease filed at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Also, according to the promotional video, these particular events will also trigger a memory within Jane or Taylor, which will show audience and viewers what exactly happened on the day that Taylor Shaw went missing twenty five years ago.

And that was all for the recap  of “Blindspot” Season 1 Episode 3 “Eight Slim Grins” and for the spoilers for “Blindspot” Season 1 Episode 4 “Bone May Rot.”
