The episode picked up from where it left off in the previous episode, with gunshots being fired in the last few seconds of the episode.

Curtis Turner (Denzel Whitaker) fired shots at Hector Flores (Felix Solis), Detective Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberg) key eyewitness in the murders of Chief Donald Kent (Dennis Haysbert) and his wife, after telling Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson), to get out of the way. She then turned and ducked, and called for help after Curtis fled the scene.

As she and a team of doctors and nurses tried to revive Flores, Danny and his partner, Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), rushed to the hospital while trying to call Linda and one of their patrolmen, respectively. After Flores flat lined, they put Linda on a stretcher, and rushed her to the operating room, as she had gotten shot in the back. This greatly worried Danny, who, after being told about it by his partner, tried to enter the operating room as well, but was stopped by his brother, Officer Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), and his partner, Officer Edit “Eddie” Janko (Vanessa Ray).

As soon as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) heard about Linda, he rushed to the hospital, where he learned that she was alright, but that they couldn’t take out one of the bullets inside of her as it might kill or paralyze her. Jamie then apologized to his father for not being harder on Curtis, as he had previously checked up on him as his mother, Faith Turner (Quincy Tyler Bernstine), who was Linda’s colleague, had been worried about Curtis hanging out with the Warrior Kings. Frank then called her out while she prayed inside the hospital’s chapel.

Danny and Maria then managed to arrest Curtis, who had been dressed up as a girl, and who was heading to Tampa, Florida. At the station, Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) sat in the interrogation where they realized that he had been forced to do it and that he was refusing to talk as Mario Hunt (Clifford “Method Man” Smith) had threatened his mother.

At the Police Commissioner’s office, while Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Garrett Moore (Gregory Jbara) and Special Assistant to the Commissioner Lieutenant Sergeant Sid Gormley (Robert Clohessy)  talked about how Clinton Wallace (Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones), the Warrior Kings leader, cut out his soldier’s tongues if they betrayed him, Frank, who had been looking through Kent’s personal effects, realized that they should use the old adage “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”, in order to catch Hunt. This meant that they would be going after Victor Perez (Gabriel Salvado), the leader of a rival gang, instead.

Because of this, Danny flushed out Perez by arresting his boys, and discovered that his ex-girlfriend, Regina Tomlin (Angela Wildflower Polk), was now Hunt’s girlfriend. Thanks to Jamie’s suggestion of making a “dirty call” by getting her to incriminate herself as she agreed to help Perez move a kilo of heroin, they were able to get a lock on Hunt’s location as she called him up after Perez did.

Hunt then escaped to the roof of his apartment building, where Danny had been waiting, and almost fell, as he had tried to escape by jumping towards the fire escape ladder of the opposite building. While Danny held on to him so that he wouldn’t fall off the roof, Hunt confessed to the murders. However, this was still not admissible in court.

Because of this, Danny got Faith to sit with the make-up unit before visiting Curtis in jail, to make Curtis believe that the Kings had beaten her up anyway. Curtis then confessed that Hunt had ordered the hit on Flores, and Hunt, in turn, gave up Wallace, who had ordered the hit on Kent. Frank then visited Wallace in prison and told him that he was going to get the death penalty due to the fact that he had murdered a Federal Officer, as Kent, at one point, had been sworn in as a U.S. Marshall for a joint operation with the DEA. He also told him that the Turners and Hunt were currently in the Witness Protection Program.

That Sunday, the Reagans set up a speakerphone so that Danny and Linda, who were still at the hospital, could join them for Sunday lunch. The two then got surprised after discovering that their family had sent them a decent meal with a bottle of wine. They then said grace before meals altogether, as Linda requested that they say it together.
