Blue Bloods Spoilers: First Look at Season 6

Among the returning CBS, procedurals is a show that consistently proves its place among its returning fall television shows with its unique sense of family dynamics and relationships, despite it being a crime procedural. “Blue Bloods” will indeed be returning for a sixth season, with heart and a fair amount of action and crime solving, as the Reagans and their friends make sure that New York is a safer place for everyone, despite the challenges and odds that they face every day as police officers, detectives, and as a family. WARNING: This article contains spoilers for the upcoming season of CSB “Blue Bloods.” Read on to learn more about what will happen to the Reagan family, and as to what challenges they will face in the upcoming season.

Everyone’s favorite police family- the Reagans, are indeed back in action for another season in which each family member struggles with the challenges that are headed their way.

According to the Fall Preview on TV Guide, two relationships that will be explored more in depth are the relationships between Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson); and Officer Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), and his partner, Officer Edit “Eddie” Janko (Vanessa Ray).

Last we left them, Linda, a nurse working at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, was shot by a young man whose mother was her colleague. It was as a result of him murdering the sole eyewitness to the death of Chief Donald Kent (Dennis Haysbert). Due to this, season six will see Linda recovering from the shooting. It will highlight and explore her and her husband Danny’s relationship as she heals and comes to terms with what happened.

Meanwhile, Jamie’s and Eddie’s partnership and the relationship will also be explored, especially as they have already been partners for around a year.

Jamie, in the past season, has already shown how protective he is of his partner. At one point, it made the conscious decision that they would only be friends, as their partnership might get a little bit more complicated if that did happen.

The focus on relationships, though, this season, doesn’t come as a surprise, as executive producer Kevin Wade reiterated to TV Guide that “family” and the relationships that are built season after season are the driving points of the show. It was while the police procedural elements highlight it and are “secondary” to the show. This is also what makes the show different from other procedurals.

The season premiere, however, according to the official website of CBS, will go off with a bang, as a danger, changes, and emotional reunions are key to the first episode of the season.

Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) will find himself in a very tight spot when he is accused of corruption, and his daughter, Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan). He begins to contemplate whether or not she should become a judge.

An emotional reunion will happen after Eddie, upon hearing that her estranged father is in the hospital, forcing her to visit him.

Meanwhile, Danny and his partner, Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) begin an investigation that may sooner or later turn deadly after their suspect, a suspected serial killer, begins threatening Danny.

Also, according to TV Guide, actress Mary Stuart Masterson will guest star in the first few episodes of the season.
