Brandon Routh Joins Arrow for Season 3

TV Line has the scoop about the new character to join our beloved “Arrow.” Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”) is joining “Arrow” for Season 3, which will air on Oct. 8, 2014 on The CW. Read further to learn more about Routh’s new role.

Routh is known for his role as Superman in the 2006 film “Superman Returns.” The actor has new shoes to fill as he plays Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom. Palmer arrives in Season 3 as the new owner of Queen Consolidated and, hold on to your seats, Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) love interest. His plans for the Applied Sciences Division will be covered with mystery.

What can The Atom do? The Atom could not fly like Superman, but he could modify his size or the size of other objects around him.

Moreover, Routh is not the only star who will join the cast of “Arrow” for Season 3 as Devon Aoki, Karl Yune and Peter Stormare have also roles to portray. Aoki stars as Tatsu Yamashiro, a.k.a. Katana, another DC superheroine. Yune, on the other hand, will serve as Maseo Yamashiro, Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) handler in Hong Kong. His character will be introduced through a series of flashbacks. Maseo is an important character as he will train and hone Oliver into the man that he is now. He is also the husband of Tatsu. Meanwhile, Stormare stars as Werner Zytle, a.k.a. Count Vertigo, as reported by TV Guide. Zyrtle will fill in the post left by The Count when he was defeated, and he sells the drug Vertigo, hence the alias Count Vertigo. He will be the new villain that the Team Arrow is going to face when the show kicks off for Season 3.
