Emma Stone to Play the Role of Sally Bowles
Emma Stone ("Easy A," "Birdman") has been confirmed to play the role of Sally Bowles on Broadway show “Cabaret.” She will replace Michelle Williams ("Dawson's Creek," "Brokeback Mountain") for the said role. Read on for further details.
According to E! News, "Cabaret" will be revived on Broadway again. It was previously shown in 1987 and 1998. The recent revival starred Williams in the titular role.
The upcoming revival show of "Cabaret" will start running from Nov. 11, 2014 to Feb. 1, 2015. The play, which will be produced by Roundabout Theatre Company, will feature Stone as Sally Bowles. Stone will take on the role of a 19-year-old English cabaret who has a special relationship with the young American writer Cliff Bradshaw.

According to Huffington Post, "Cabaret" is set during the 1931 era in Berlin. It showed the changes in the Kit Kat Klub after the Nazis took over. The Broadway play also features the songs "Willkommen" and "Tomorrow Belongs to Me," which were created by John Kander and Fred Ebb.
Stone recently appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." In an episode of the late-night show, she promoted her new film "Birdman" and discussed the history of “Cabaret.”
“I saw it in New York for the first time with Alan as the emcee when I was nine years old, which is the most inappropriate show to take a nine-year-old to,” said Stone, adding not to bring a child into the play.
