The unusual pair of a classy Hollywood actress and a hard rocker receives the best gift for Christmas this year. Cameron Diaz is finally engaged to Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden after seven months. Several sources confirmed the news to Us Weekly.

The 42-year-old actress, known for her role in “Charlie’s Angels,” was linked with Justin Timberlake and Alex Rodriguez, but Madden was the one to put the ring on her finger. The actress started dating the 35-year-old rocker since May 2014.

According to Us Weekly, a source told them that most people think the couple’s decision was crazy. Madden was known to fall in love easily, but the only woman he was sure of marrying is Diaz.

“They obviously both make each other incredibly happy and there’s nothing better than that,” the source told Us Weekly.

The couple's friend shared to the publication in September 2014 that Madden strived for perfection to sustain his relationship with Diaz. The source said Madden is more traditional than Diaz.

“She really doesn’t care about getting married but wants babies. He wants to get engaged and married first,” the couple’s friend shared.

The couple seemed to be a match made in heaven because Nicole Richie, a close friend of Diaz, set the couple up. The best part is Richie’s husband is Madden’s twin brother, Joel.

Ritchie said to Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” in July 2014 that she approved of anything that makes her husband’s twin happy.

“I’m going to take responsibility for everything!” she exclaimed after confirming to Cohen that she was indeed the matchmaker.

Surprisingly, Diaz’s mother, Billie, was a fan of her daughter’s fiancé. She is one of the most excited people about the wedding.

A source claimed that Billie was excited ever since Diaz started to have a relationship with Madden.
