‘Captain America: Civil War’ debuts three new posters shortly after the epic trailer premiere
After much speculations as to when the first official “Captain America: Civil War” trailer is going to be seen by the general public, Marvel Entertainment finally released it — without so much as a pre-release fanfare (not that they need it) — yesterday. Ah, but that was not the only goodie that Marvel dropped. There were also three new posters that maybe are not as epic but are definitely worth checking out.
Over at their respective official Facebook pages, Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) had their first “Captain America: Civil War” character posters. Both carries the tagline, “Divided we fall” (which was not in the trailer) and promises a whole lot of tension between the Steve Rogers’ alter-ego and Tony Stark’s (which was definitely seen, felt, and heard in the trailer).
Captain America’s character poster had all its intensity in Cap’s eyes and his shield. At first glance, it looked suspiciously mellow but a closer scrutiny at his Vibranium shield shows a reflection of Iron Man. And the latter is utilising his repulsor beams, trying to best the Cap’s supposedly indestructible shield.
The other character poster could have very well been the other side of that shield, had Captain America also been erect in it. It shows Steve Rogers’ alter-ego hiding behind his shield as Tony Stark in his iron suit tries to penetrate the shield. But Iron man does not look all too good. His faceplate looked like it received some massive beating (which he sure had in that one scene in the trailer, with Captain America and Bucky Barnes, played by Sebastian Stan).
Check out both character posters below.
Also released via Twitter is the official poster for the superhero movie, with the Blue and Red going face to face. It was nicely interposed with the Cap’s blue and red shield, each colour falling on the right side (blue for the Cap and red for Iron Man). It still held the tagline, “Divided we fall.” See it below.
See the battle unfold when “Captain America: Civil War” hits theatres on May 6, 2016. In the meantime, you may also watch the trailer, which we kept mentioning throughout the article, right here on MNG.
