‘Captain America: Civil War’ to Feature Steve Rogers Lifting Thor’s Hammer?

Captain America: Civil War” is nearly a year away from its release in theatres and several fan speculations and theories have already emerged regarding the upcoming Marvel movie. Another rumor claims that Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) will be finally lifting Thor’s mighty Mjolnir in “Captain America 3.” Read on to learn more about this scoop.

In “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the team played a game on who among them is worthy of wielding Thor’s legendary hammer, the Mjolnir. Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) tried his best at lifting the Mjolnir, but he, including Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) failed to prove that they are worthy of lifting the legendary weapon.

It wasn’t until Captain America (Chris Evans) tried his luck. He failed after he almost lifted the Mjolnir much to Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) worrying look. Now, Captain America may finally succeed at wielding the mighty hammer in his upcoming movie, “Civil War.”

According to Cinema Blend, a user from the SuperheroHype message board claimed to have seen Captain America holding a “CGI stand-in prop that was shaped like a double sided hammer.” This alerted many fans into believing that Steve will be finally lifting the mighty Mjolnir in his third movie.

The outlet, however, found the report questionable, as Thor is not expected to appear in “Captain America 3” in preparation for his 2017 film, “Thor: Ragnarok.”

Meanwhile, AJC.com reported “Captain America: Civil War” is looking into casting “Ivy League graduate students and alumni” aged 21 to 65.

The upcoming Marvel movie is filming in several locations in Atlanta, Georgia with its main station located at Pinewood Studios.

“Captain America: Civil War” opens in theatres on May 6, 2016.
