Castle’ Sneak Peeks Preview Changes and Alexis’ New Job
Next Monday, fans will finally return to the familiar arms of ABC’s crime procedural “Castle”, albeit with some changes, which, over the hiatus, have been much discussed and debated over the Internet. Such changes included a new but different dynamic between the newly minted Captain Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and husband and mystery writer Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion), which the showrunners hope will give the show a different kick from before. Several recent promotional videos and sneak peeks have been showing this new dynamic, along with a sneak peek as to the new faces that fans and viewers will be seeing this upcoming season, and a recent interview allowed the showrunners to further illuminate how these changes came to be. WARNING: This article will contain spoilers regarding the upcoming season and the upcoming episodes of “Castle.” Read on only to learn more about this fresh new dynamic between the main couple, and how it came to be.
Recently, in line with the fact that the eight season of ABC’s “Castle” will be kicking off this coming Monday, Spoiler TV has shared two brand new, and exclusive sneak peeks that give fans and viewers their first glimpse of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) with his daughter Alexis Castle (Molly C. Quinn), and with his wife, the newly minted Captain Kate Beckett (Stana Katic).
The first sneak peek showed Castle giving Kate a large cupcake with a sparkling candle, and after asking her how she felt, told her to “dig in” and not to eat the cupcake.
It was also revealed that Castle wasn’t going to go with her to the precinct, for her first day as captain. Instead, he was heading over to his Private Investigator office, which he just had remodeled, which was shown in the second sneak peek.
However, to his surprise, he found Alexis sitting in his chair. Alexis then explained that she had accidentally begun solving cases behind his back. It was after a client swung by the office while she was overseeing the foreman who was doing the remodeling on the office.
She also revealed a secret bookshelf entrance, which led to a secret room, and Castle tried out the secret gun compartment in his table, in which a gun sprang out from the table’s surface after slamming his hand onto it.
According to a recent interview that TV Line did with showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, it was revealed that a part of the big changes that they were talking about had to do with Kate’s character, and how she will have to finally close that chapter regarding her mother’s murder case, which she had finally solved. As it was a big factor, and a big motivator in her life, Kate will have a hard time in letting it go, which, of course, in turn, will affect her relationship with her husband.
They also revealed that the two-parter premiere, which will deal with the same event, but with each episode reflecting the individual perspectives of Castle and of Kate, was largely due to the scheduling issues that happened as Katic had still been busy shooting a film.
However, this turned out into a great opportunity for the show.
Recently, the showrunners also had an interview with Give Me My Remote, where they teased that Senator Bracken’s (Jack Coleman) return will definitely surprise the fans. This season will have Castle have a much different relationship with Alexis, who is now more mature than before.
They also teased that Castle’s mysterious disappearance, and the effect it had on everyone around him will also be tackled and dealt with more during this upcoming season.
