“Scorpion” is an upcoming American drama series from CBS. It premieres on September 22, 2014. It will air on Mondays at 9:00 pm on CBS. The cast members include Elyes Gabel (“Game of Thrones,” “World War Z”), Katharine McPhee (“American Idol”), Robert Patrick (“Die Hard 2,” “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series”), Eddie Kaye Thomas (“American Pie”), Jadyn Wong and Ari Stidham. Read on to find more about “Scorpion” including a first look at the latest teaser trailer from CBS’s newest series.

According to Deadline, the upcoming true-to-life series is created by “Prison Break” and “Law & Order” writer Nick Santora. It will mark his return on having showrunning duties since the success of A&E’s “Breakout Kings” in 2012. It is executive produced by Santora with “Sleepy Hollow” and “Star Trek” reboot creators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, “Fast & Furious” director Justin Lin, Heather Kadin, Scooter Braun and Walter O’Brien.

“Scorpion” is inspired by the real-life story of an eccentric genius named Walter O’Brien. He was also documented with the fourth highest IQ ever. Elyes Gabel will play Walter O’Brien in his first-ever TV lead role. Gabel’s portrayal of O’Brien was known working under the code name “Scorpion.” He had grown up to be a child prodigy and became a world-renowed personality in the modern technology industry.

At an early age, he had built the Scorpion Computer Services with his own band of super geniuses. His group includes Toby Curtis (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Happy Quinn (Jadyn Wong) and Sylvester Dodd (Ari Stidham). Each one of them were blessed with different skills, but were considered to be equipped for the job. They were tapped to use their wits and skills after LAX’s mainframe was hacked. He and his team were recruited by a Homeland Security member named Agent Cabe Gallo (Robert Patrick).

They will be joined by a waitress named Paige Dineen (Katherine McPhee), who worked at the diner where they will set their place. Paige will build an understanding relationship with them as she got a secret genius son of her own. She will play as the group’s interpreter/nanny in handling socially awkward interactions with those outside their tech world.

Moreover, Deadline reported the series will be joining other CBS series for its fall TV schedule: “Battle Creek,” “CSI: Cyber,” “The McCarthys,” “Madam Secretary,” NCIS: New Orleans,” “The Odd Couple” and “Stalker.” It will debut alongside CBS shows “The Big Bang Theory,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Mom” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” in the network’s primetime line-up.
