As we sit and eat our delectable carnivorous meal, 10 famous celebrities were munching on just vegetables and fruits instead. Read on as we count down to 10 of the famous celebrities who chose to be vegans.

  1. Samuel L. Jackson

VegNews reported that the “Big Game” star said he’s on a vegan diet so he can live forever. Jackson, who plays the famous Nick Fury, at 65, sure does need to be a super hero to keep up with his hectic schedule.

  1. Carrie Underwood

According to the singer, she became a vegan when she’s 13 years old after seeing her parents castrate the calves in their farm. Underwood was listed as one of PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities.

  1. Natalie Portman

According to Huffington Post, after reading the book “Eating Animals” by Jonathan Safran Foer in 2009, Portman became a vegan. Portman’s vegan wedding menu last 2012 is one good proof. Us Weekly noted that the actress went to some egg and cheese cravings in 2011 but got back to meat-free diet after her pregnancy.

In 2009, the singer-song writer became a vegan and told OK! Magazine she lost 20 pounds within just months of having a meat-free diet. Morissette, however, is just 80 percent vegan according to The Guardian.

Mother Nature Network reported that Usher went vegan in 2012. The choice came after deciding that he doesn’t want to end up like his father who died of heart attack.
