Celine Dion Talks about her Husband René Angélil’s Battle against Throat Cancer

One of the most painful experiences anyone could have is to see the pain of a loved one. For Celine Dion, she is currently enduring the pain in seeing her husband in his on-going battle against cancer.

In an interview with People on Wednesday, March 25, Celine Dion tells about her husband René Angélil in his third fight against throat cancer. “I am scared of losing him, because it’s bad. But I have to show myself, my husband and my kids that I’m strong and we’re okay,” she said. The couple have been married for 20 years now. Their marriage was blessed with three sons René-Charles and fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson.

During a previous interview with Deborah Roberts at ABC News’ ‘Good Morning America’, Dion said that her husband cannot talk nor eat properly due to his throat surgery. She has been feeding him through a feeding tube. Aside from this, he is also experiencing difficulties in hearing because of his previous treatments.

Dion had previously signed up for a residency show at the Caesars Palace’s Colosseum in Las Vegas. However, she postponed the show last year so she can take care of her husband, who was recovering from a surgery back then. However, Angélil insisted that she return to performing, even now that his cancer has come back again.

At her comeback show on August 27, Angélil promised Dion that he will be in the audience as one of her best supporters, as much as she has been supporting him in these hard times. Regarding this, she said, “I promise there will be high, happy notes, but it’s going to be very emotional for me.”

The tickets for Dion’s Las Vegas performances will go on sale on Saturday, March 28 at thecolosseum.com and axs.com.
